When we at RI think of light, we think of the whole spectrum from the infra-red and visible light to the ultra-violet part of the optical spectrum, that our customers in the semiconductor industry use. And, of course, we think of the X-rays that some other customers of ours generate with synchrotron and FEL light sources equipped with key components from RI.
RI started out as a manufacturer of cavities for particle accelerators. Now, as you can see from the pictures, there is so much more we have to offer.
Our EUV-lamp is a compact and reliable source providing the lithography relevant EUV spectrum for diagnostics and metrology.
The light emitted by synchrotron light sources drains the energy of the circulating electrons. Our 500MHz RF cavities feedback this energy loss at ALBA, BESSY (HZB), DELTA (TU Dortmund), Diamond, LBNL, Pohang Accelerator Laboratory, PETRA III (DESY), SLS (PSI), and MAX IV.
The PolFEL project will use four SRF modules for the generation of laser-like light in the THz and IR spectrum.
Every synchrotron light source needs an electron source. Ours run, for instance, at NSRRC in Taiwan and the Swiss Light Source, and the next one for the Canadian Light Source is in the making.
Our PRTT tool is used in the EUV lithography business to characterize and qualify the pellicle foils used to avoid debris from the EUV source on the mask blank.
RI’s in-vacuum undulators produce high brightness X-ray light beams in synchrotrons like ALBA and CLS.
To make sure you have a perfect beam on your sample, RI also offers beamline instrumentation like the one for the ABBIX beamline at NSLS II at BNL.
These S-band structures accelerate electrons from the source into the synchrotron storage ring where they generate the light. These are, for example, installed at MAX IV in Sweden, SOLARIS in Poland, UCLA in the US, INFN in Italy, and STFC in the UK.
