We did it again! After the fun we had two years ago, we opened our doors again for “Ein Tag for Ort”, an initiative by the German Physical Society (DPG), this spring. This time we offered tours not only in Bergisch Gladbach but also at our second site in Dortmund to give even more people the chance to visit us and learn why we love what we are doing.
We had the pleasure of hosting 12 students who were curious to experience firsthand what it is like to be a physicist working in industry. And it was exciting! We were happy to show the groups around and provide insight into how RI operates as a high-tech company that supplies key components to research facilities around the world.
During their visit, we had a variety of fascinating projects underway, including crab cavities for @CERN, HOM-damped 500MHz cavities for PSI, the injection kicker system for FAIR, and an RFQ for a costumer working on medical radioisotopes, all at different stages of development. We appreciated the students' curiosity, were impressed with the prior knowledge many of them had, and enjoyed engaging in lively discussions that allowed us to share our passion for innovation and cutting-edge technology. It was a pleasure to showcase our work and demonstrate how we are making a positive impact in the world of science.
We wish our guests all the best for their future careers and hope to have the opportunity to reconnect with them down the line. You always meet twice, don’t you?
