The Canadian Light Source (CLS) is the only synchrotron light source in Canada and one of the largest science projects in the country’s history. More than 1’000 scientists from around the world use the CLS every year for research in the fields of health, agriculture, the environment and materials research.
The CLS’s synchrotron light, in great demand by scientists, is generated by a 2.9 GeV storage ring with a circumference of 171 meters. The Linear accelerator (LINAC), is the first-stage pre-accelerator and a core component of a synchrotron. We’re honoured to have been selected by CLS to replace its 250 MeV LINAC with a new turnkey-system from RI. We look forward to working with CLS on this important project to upgrade this great machine.
