International Earth Day

Today, International Earth Day is celebrated worldwide - and we at RI also take our responsibility for our planet seriously, and are working on ways to reduce our footprint with the mid-term goal to make RI carbon neutral.

However, it is not always the big things that count, but also the small everyday things that can contribute to preserving the world. For example, we decided to change our electricity provider and were able to reduce our CO2 emissions by about 70% in 2021. We are also continuously contributing by energy savings at our production sites: For our new building in Obereschbach, for instance, we decided on an integrated heating concept using the waste heat of our machinery in combination with an electric heat pump that will be run with green electricity mostly produced by our rooftop photovoltaics.

In addition, we are doing without short-haul flights in order to further reduce the CO2 footprint of our company. And with the increasing digitisation of our work processes, we can save a lot of paper.
