FAQ

You can find answers to the most frequently asked questions about the application process with us here.

How can I apply?

Ideally electronically by e-mail. Please send your complete application documents by e-mail to our Human Resources Office (bewerbung@research-instruments.de).

What documents should my application contain?

Your application should include a cover letter, your curriculum vitae and your certificates (school-leaving certificates, university certificates, employment certificates) and, if applicable, other certificates relevant to your application.

Who should I address my cover letter to?

Since we do not specify the name of the respective contact person in every job advert, you can simply use the formal salutation "Dear Sir or Madam".

Which file formats may be used?

Please send us your application in PDF format. Preferably in a single file.

Is there a deadline for applications?

No, there is no standard application deadline because the deadlines vary from vacancy to vacancy. A job advert usually remains posted online until the position in question has been filled.

Are the advertised vacancies up to date?

All the vacancies advertised on our job board are vacancies that need to be filled.

How can I find out about the current status of my application?

You can inquire about the current status of your application in the application process by email. Our personnel office will be happy to help you.

Can I send in an unsolicited application?

Yes, we are happy to accept unsolicited applications. Please include your preferred place of work and your field of activity in your cover letter so that the application can be forwarded to the right manager as quickly as possible.

Can I apply for several positions at the same time?

With pleasure! To ensure that your application is received by all preferred departments, please apply directly and separately for the respective positions.

How long will my application documents be stored by you?

Every applicant has the right to have his/her application data deleted immediately after the recruitment process has ended. In terms of data protection law, this obligation arises from Articles 5 and 15 DSGVO, according to which data must be deleted as soon as knowledge of it is no longer required to fulfil the purpose for which it was stored. The application documents will be deleted after a maximum of 6 months.

Does RI pay attention to data protection when I apply?

The protection of your personal data during processing throughout the application process is an important concern for us. We guarantee that the collection, processing and use of your data will be carried out strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act and, from May 2018, the European Data Protection Regulation. You can find more information here.

What can I expect in the application process at RI?

We usually get back to you within the first 1-2 working days after receiving your application with at least an interim response. If we are missing relevant information for the review, we will contact you immediately in order to obtain this from you subsequently. If one of the vacant positions fits your profile, we will conduct a personal interview with you to get to know you better. Furthermore, the interview serves to give you an insight into our company and also more detailed information about the position(s) to be filled. If the journey to a personal interview involves an above-average amount of travelling or is not possible at short notice, a first meeting can also take place online.

What happens after an interview?

During the interview, we analyse together how your profile fits the open position or the project. At the same time, we will discuss the concrete procedure with you and keep you up to date on the specific next steps.

What is the hiring process like?

During the recruitment process, we discuss the employment contract with you in detail. Afterwards, you will receive it for signature. Together we will then plan the next steps for a successful start in your new job.
